Dr. Meredith Gore joined the faculty of the School of Criminal Justice in January 2008. Dr. Gore has a joint position in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife and will become a core member of the group of MSU scholars building research and education programs in "Conservation Criminology." Dr. Gore is a specialist in risk perception and natural resources. She received her Ph.D. in Natural Resource Policy and Management from Cornell University.

The College of Social Science has awarded Sarah Fitzgerald, the Undergraduate Distinguished Scholarship. This award is to recognize distinguished, well-rounded undergraduate achievement in academic work and career preparation.

Jeff Gruenewald, doctoral student, has been selected as a Fellow of the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to
Terrorism (START) for the 2008-09 academic year (August 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009).
