


Wall of Fame Nomination Form
The School of Criminal Justice and the Alumni Association Board annually seeks and accepts nominations for the School of Criminal Justice Wall of Fame Award.
The selection is made from individuals who have distinguished themselves within the field of criminal justice while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and character. There are five categories:
- Distinguished Alumni Award
- Young Alumni Award
- Alumni Service Award
- Distinguished Faculty Award
- Outstanding Student Award (faculty committee nominated)
Selection Criteria
Distinguished Alumni and Young Alumni Award
- Must have earned a degree from Michigan State University through the School of Criminal Justice or Police Sciences. Distinguished Young Alumni must have earned their degree withing the last ten years.
- Must have attained the highest level of professional accomplishments.
- Must have the highest standard of personal integrity and character.
- Special honors or recognition may be submitted for consideration.
- Living, Contemporary Honors Division must be a member of the MSU Alumni Association or be willing to join.
Alumni Service Award
- Must have earned a degree from Michigan State University through the School of Criminal Justice or Police Sciences.
- Must have demonstrated continuing outstanding volunteer service to the School of Criminal Justice on a local, state, national or international level.
- Must have the highest standard of personal integrity and character.
- Living, Contemporary Honors Division must be a member of the MSU Alumni Association or be willing to join.
Distinguished Faculty
- Must be current or past tenured faculty member of the School of Criminal Justice.
- Must have attained the highest level of professional accomplishments.
- Must have the highest standard of personal integrity and character.
- Special honors or recognition may be submitted for consideration.
Selection Process
Alumni and Faculty Awards
- Individuals or groups may submit nominations.
- No self-nominations may be submitted.
- Nominations may be submitted at any time.
- The School on or before June 30 must receive completed nominations.
- The nominations will be reviewed and selected by the Wall of Fame committee.
- The selection committee will determine the number of award recipients.
- Any nominees not selected will automatically be reviewed for selection the following year. After that period, candidates will need to be formally nominated again for consideration.
Conferring of Award
- The award winner(s) will be notified by The School of Criminal Justice upon selection by the committee.
- The Wall of Fame award winner(s), colleagues and/or family members will be invited to the award dinner for the formal presentation.
Supporting Documentation
Please submit the following information:
- The nominee's personal resume or professional biography of the nominee, listing all educational achievements & relevant accomplishments in chronological order. Please make certain all titles are accurate. Information submitted will be used to prepare promotional materials.
- 2-4 letters of support.
- Cover letter of support from the individual nominating the candidate. Please ensure that all titles and personal information are accurate.
