    This library was created to honor the memory of Dr. James J. Brennan, retired lieutenant, New York City Police Department, in which he served (1938-1951) as Director of Planning, Juvenile Aid Bureau, and (1938-1954) as Director of Planning and Public Relations of the Police Athletic League.  Dr. Brennan joined the faculty of the then School of Police Administration and Public Safety in 1954 as Associate Professor and was promoted to Professor in 1956. He devoted his entire career to the problems of youth.
